Punkin Carvin!!!!!

Here are the results of this year's pumpkin carving!

Mike carving his pumpkin:

Mike's pumpkin:

(I had to take the photo with the flash on, because Mike still has to tweek the carving...the candle keeps going out, there's not enough air getting in)

And here's MY pumpkin!!!

(In case you can't tell what it is, it's ghosts looking out a window)

Long Overdue Pics

Mike's preparations for apple picking...BEER!!

Mike with his apple picker-reacher thingy.

Mike attempting to use the apple picker-reacher thingy.

More problems with the picking of the apples...

This would be the reason that he had to practically climb a tree to find any apples....THEY WERE ALL ON THE GROUND!!!! The trees were pretty well picked-over, but we managed to find enough for two bags.

This is a really pretty view that we could see from the Nashoba Valley Winery, looking back towards Bolton center.

There, I think that should do it.

so busy....

Let's see...catch up time....

Way to much work, way too little time....that about sums it up!!!

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest pics to come later....

I had a GREAT time yesterday with my boy and his parents at the Nashoba Valley Winery's Oktoberfest. We weren't, however, expecting the crowd!!! There were HUNDREDS of people there!!

We went apple picking (or should I say HUNTING). It took us a long time to find enough apples to fill our two bags, the trees were picked clean.

We were looking forward to some German grub, but because of the crowds, there wasn't any left!! We decided to go out to find some instead.

We drove by Bose to show the parents where their boy works, not that they could see much more than a brick building, but at least they got the idea.

We went to Beef n' Ale in Stow. I've never been there before, and I liked it. It had pub food, and REALLY GOOD FRIED ICE CREAM!!!!

Mike liked Mr. Beefie...

Petunia

She's still alive, and still breathing. She's struggling, but is swimming and eating, which is good. I'm not sure if she will make it yet, but we're trying to save her.

Update on the fishy situation

IT'S A MIRACLE!!!

OH MY GOD!!!

IT'S UNBELIEVABLE!!!

So, going way back in the blog (September 18), I lost my fish. One day it was there, one day it was gone.

So, finally, I felt I was over Petunia's loss, and I went to the Fish Nook to buy myself a new fishy.

I brought him home, his name is Ruby, and I went to clean out the bowl. As I was pouring the water into the strainer (to catch the rocks) I saw a head pop out. At first, I almost screamed in horror, thinking it was just the head of my poor fishy.

HOWEVER!!!!.....it was the whole fish..............ALIVE........barely......but.........ALIVE!!!!!

He had buried himself under the rocks, and was living under them for the past month.
All the water had practically evaporated out, and I had not put any food in there for a month. He looks sickly, but I think he can make it.

Poor Petunia...fighting for life...please pray for Petunia!

I am so proud of us!!!!!!

Please note the clean view of the floor....I knew we had one SOMEWHERE!! Mike and I spent almost all of yesterday cleaning the apartment. We still need to get rid of the old tv shelf, and move the tent into the attic from the dining room. We didn't have a chance to do all of the laundry (we ran out of quarters...stupid laundry room needs to enter the 21st century). However, Greg and Debbie commented on what a great place we have, so mission accomplished!!

Flea Market Finds

I know this is late in coming, but here's some of the things I bought at the Harvard Flea Market last weekend...

An awesome framed print that I bought for $4, it's going to be hanging in the dining room one of these days.

Free yarn kicks butt!!

I also got some alto sax solo books, and a piano book for $5 total. A pair of hand towels for the bathroom for $1. The rest of the things I bought were Christmas presents for people, so I can't post them. If you are interested in seeing them, let me know, and I can email them to you. :-)

Wow...it's Thursday already?

Holy crap...where has the week gone?

Wait I will tell you!!!

Tuesday: 1/2 day with students, the rest of the day was spent staring at my computer while mapping out my curriculum through a computer program. Next was a meeting in Worcester for MMEA, which I didn't get home from until 8:00, and I literally went to bed after entering the apartment.

Wednesday: FULL day of teaching!! New rotation of students...I have 30 in one class! (good thing I got new desks...now I have exactly 30). Then I had afterschool extra help, ran out to buy gas for the car, munchkins for the kiddos, and an iced latte for myself. (which I had to go back into Dunks to tell them their milk had gone bad...not a good taste to have in your mouth when you are expecting chocolatey goodness) Next was jazz band rehearsal (they were really excited I treated them to munchkins) Then Harvard Town Band (woohoo for playing in ONE!!!) Then JP's (which my boy joined us for!!) Then finally, home, at 11:00.

Thursday: Teaching, teaching, teaching...with extra help afterschool (great group of kids!!!) Then over to a certain 87 year old clarinet player's house to drop off a newly-repaired clarinet. Met the wife, chatted, had a good time...left an hour later!! Now, finally home at 5:00...

whew...and there's still tomorrow!!!

The strangest thing I have ever seen....

I wish I had my camera with me today...

As I was driving through Acton, I saw a teenage boy walking down the street.....with a GIANT snake. It looked like the one in this picture. It was about 6 feet long, around his shoulders! It was so weird. Are people allowed to just walk down the street with a giant snake???

mmmmm

On the way home from school today, I saw 5 wild turkeys on Groton Harvard Rd. I stopped and tried to get a photo, but they wobbled away. I saw giant birds with my eyes, but I was thinking dinner in my head...

Our new bathroom decoration

This is one of those shadow-box type frames that you can tack anything you want inside. It has a magnet so you can easily open the front and change it whenever you want. Inside now are pictures from our last vacation, and a ticket from the sox game we went to over the summer. :-) It's fun to have changeable decorations. :-)

I made this a while ago...

This is my autumn door decoration. It hangs on our apartment door. I feel festive whenever I open the door. :-)

I bought the wooden cutouts a while back at AC Moore, and I painted them a few weeks ago, and just hadn't had the chance to post the pics.

I need...

I HAVE to find a way to stop SOMEWHERE to get this tomorrow....

Things I buy with yet a purpose to use them

Not that I need it yet...but I bought a caketopper that arrived today. I absolutely love it! :-)

It is absolutely adorable. I like it cuz I think it looks like me and Mike.

All I need now is a ring... ;-)

No, I did not take these pictures....they were better than the ones I took.
